About Me

I have lived on the Outer Banks for over 30 years and have had an interest in healing through nursing, exercise, touch and music all my life. My two daughters received regular massages as infants.
I have been a registered nurse since 1976, with experience in medical and surgical nursing, hospice and bereavement work, family practice and pediatrics.
In 2000, I graduated from the Fuller School of Massage in Virginia Beach, VA. My training includes Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy, Healing Touch, Trager, Breathwork, Accupressure, Perinatal Massage, and Newborn Massage.
My practice is continually updated through the study of different bodywork modalities and I am currently a student in the Trager practitioner program.
I have a strong belief that exercise is really the best medicine and therefore encourage movement and exercise for the optimum health. I have been involved in swim instruction, karate, and many outdoor activities.
As part of my initial education, I received special training in Nurture the Mother peri-natal massage and Baby’s First Massage. Believing that good beginnings enhance family life, I welcome opportunities to teach families the value and practice of therapeutic, nurturing touch.
